I just switched the telly on, and the channel it was on was showing one of these American talk shows - you know the ones where members of the public go on and tell their deepest, darkest secrets to complete strangers, and then humiliate their partners by telling them in front of the audience and the viewing public.
This one was this wife who had a fling with another man, and then wasn't sure if her 6 month old baby was fathered by the fling, or the permanent man. Then she told him - in front of everyone.
Now, I don't know about you, but if my partner had some deep dark secret, something that could potentially destroy our relationship in a stroke, the last place I would want to hear about it would be in front of a flippin' studio audience.
In fact, were he to take that route, the ending of our relationship would be guaranteed! No way would I allow myself to be humiliated like that!
Oh, incidentally - the baby was the permanent man's offspring. They did a paternity test.
