  • So sick of this

Well, I'm poorly again. I really need a week in the sun!

My daughter was on antibiotics when she went on her holidays and she (quite generously) left her infection with me. So I now have a really sore cough that is sitting just under my collarbones and up my throat. And that bit that clicks in my throat is continually painful as well. I feel like I've swallowed a thistle, and it got stuck half way down.

I was in my bed last night at 7pm. I got up at 6am to let the dogs out, and it was snowing. There are no tyre tracks in my drive from driving in and out yesterday. When I got back up at 8.30 and let them out again, it was still snowing, and their pawprints were gone. I don't think it has stopped since, and is slowly building up again. You know that horrible 'thin' rain that you can barely see, but wets you right thru in minutes? Well, this is the snow version of that.

I had bad nightmares last night. I woke up and was really scared.

I happier news, a friend of mine needed to get to the Dr yesterday but their car is snowed in their drive, so I arranged to pick them up at the end of the drive - the roads are (were?) quite clear. When I got there, I could see them running in and out of their barn, and I just thought that they were up late and were trying to get the animals fed at double quick time. I was wrong - one of their goats had a kid!! They didn't even know she was pregnant. She's an angora, so they now have double the wool. I think they are going to keep the kid, but they will need to castrate him. Actually, I think they would need to castrate him even if they were going to use him for meat - I think they taste too 'goaty' otherwise.
