I have some straighteners and they are totally rubbish.
I have to hold them about half an inch away from my hair, or they burn it, which kinda defeats the point. You can feel your hair crisping. 
What straighteners do you use? Are they any good?
I am torn between the GHD ones and the Wet2Dry ones.
Anyone?

Hmm, don't fancy scrubbing burnt hair off. Can do that with the ones I have already!
I use this stuff for straightening hair that Drumboil recommended, but it is upstairs now, and I can't be bothered to trog up there. It's in a pink container. Dunno if it is protective, though

I use GHD's. I got them for my birthday last year & haven't looked back. They are brilliant, totally make my hair straight & heat up in seconds. Well worth the investment.

I use Philips Tresemme straighteners. They're fine, but I had to scrub the burnt hair off them the other day
after a while it builds up on the edges of them.
Do you use heat protection spray? Deffo **have** to use that.
I don't know if they have different versions of these cos mine were dearer but ...
