The Last To Know?

Am I the last to know that Amazon can often be cheaper than eBay?

I have been keeping a book on watch for a few days, and then for some reason I decided to read the reviews about it on Amazon. THEN found that the book was routinely cheaper on Amazon that the seller was trying for on eBay and that I could actually buy the series for only slightly more than the single eBay book!

I am absolutely not going to check on books I have already bought, or I might be kicking myself!

Ebay has got too expensive these days, I often find stuff cheaper on other websites like Amazon or Play.com

  Ditto on those two, they're both pretty good.

Yep Ebay is not the cheap place it use to be, always best to shop aroud nowadays

I don't do Ebay, but I tend to shop between play.com. amazon, depending on who is cheaper

I don't seek books on Ebay, never have. There are sites like the ones you mention, and if there is anything difficult to obtain, there are great 'hobbyist' booksellers who are online themselves and who are reasonable.

The only reservation I have is the bad press that Amazon recently got regarding their heavy handedness with publishers ergo authors and sales margins.

It all sounds too familiar.

  I have mainly bought books on eBay or The Book People. TBP seem to be turning towards mainly kids books now, though.

    It's very much corporate stores-esque. Many of the chain stores and corporations have been found wanting in driving down costs.

Amazon is selling books for as long as i can remember.So it gota be cheaper than ebay on books.But amazon is expensive if you buy anything else,specially electronics.

  Yea, I knew they sold them, but I thought they were dear. I don't buy electronics - I'm a wee bit of a Luddite.
